Apart from not having the Real-time GPS Navigation or tracking Apps in cell phones, most African countries and locations do not enjoy virile internet network coverage that supports Real-time navigation and tracking. Good internet data network coverage like the 3G, 4G and in some cases upto 7G LTE Networks are what are required for Real-time data streaming to function.
When made available, one can easily find his destination while monitoring his navigation progress instant.
However the emergence of the mobile phone fingerprint security lock and the GPS Real-time Navigation and tracking technology must not be the reason to raise prices of phone and render it not affordable to the common man.
