WhatsApp is set to unveil new and enhanced features on the social messaging, call and video platform this year 2021. Perhaps, of greater importance is the fact that WhatsApp has declared it is safer now than ever. The new WhatsApp features this 2021 no doubt, were geared to make the platform more fun. According to global tech news reports, these new features from WhatsApp will come alive in the early year 2021. However, WhatsApp users are expected to know what these features might be. They are also supposed to know if these changes on WhatsApp features would come alive automatically or through the WhatsApp software updates. Furthermore, the WhatsApp Web is coming out stronger with more features that would make it more social in use and more engaging. This post takes you through new WhatsApp features this 2021 and all you need to know about them.
What is WhatsApp Web?
Before we dive into unveiling the new expected features of WhatsApp this 2021, let us understand what WhatsApp Web is. The WhatsApp Web is the Windows or PC version of WhatsApp, usable on the normal computers. On both desktop or laptop, one can comfortably send and receive messages via chats on the WhatsApp Windows OS version. However, new features of WhatsApp coming out this 2021 also affected the WhatsApp Web. Therefore, get ready to find more thrilling new features for your computer WhatsApp. In some WhatsApp mobile and Windows integrations, one would be asked to bring both mobile and PC devices into proximate alignment for some QR scans. Let us now proceed with the new features coming out soon on WhatsApp this year.
WhatsApp Web New Video Calls and Audio Calls Features
Before now, we have been enjoying video and audio calls only on the mobile WhatsApp. This year 2021, we shall see the introduction of same video calls and audio calls on the WhatsApp Web version. By this new features, you will be able to video call directly from your laptop or desktop on the WhatsApp interface. Isn’t that cool? However, your PC or laptop must have a front web camera to do this. Certainly, I am sure all modern computer systems have web cams.
However, this new features has been long expected as it had a less enhanced version in use before now. In one of my earlier posts, I wrote about Free WhatsApp Call on Windows Phones. This new WhatsApp Features this 2021 rolling out soon is the enhanced version. Luckily for WhatsApp users, it has been extended to both Mobile and Windows Operating Systems devices.
Attach Multiple Videos and Pictures to Share on New WhatsApp Features this 2021
Although one can send pictures, videos, documents etc on WhatsApp, this new features would enable multiple sending at a time. By this new features on WhatsApp, one can now select multiple images or videos at once. According to reports, the procedure shall be to select multiple images or videos from phone gallery. After selection, you click on “Export” and followed by “Copy”, to send all the selected contents to your desired WhatsApp chat bar locations. Amazing indeed right?
Join On-going Group Voice and Video calls
In any group you belong to on WhatsApp, you can now join up with any voice or video call as long as it has not terminated. In other words, you could still catch up in any group voice conversation or video conferencing before it ends. This is impossible with old WhatsApp features. Furthermore, this new features on WhatsApp coming this 2021 is available on both the Web and mobile WhatsApp versions.
Mute Videos Before Sending or Sharing on New WhatsApp Features this 2021
When you mute a video, it ceases all sounds. This is what we shall see as WhatsApp launches some new features this 2021. By this new features, a user can mute videos before sending it out to other users or groups. According to speculations, it is said that WhatsApp would feature a speaker icon beside the video duration and file size info. Before sharing any video, a click on the speaker icon mutes the voice and sends out only the video without sound.
One WhatsApp Account on Multiple Device
WhatsApp has been working to make its social messaging platform usable on many devices at same time. It is called the WhatsApp multi-device support features. Before now, you can only use one device for your WhatsApp. Buy a new phone and before installing WhatsApp in it, you must disconnect WhatsApp from wherever else. Otherwise, it won’t work. As new WhatsApp features this 2021 comes onboard with multi-devices applicability, you can activate a single WhatsApp account on many devices at same time. For instance, two mobile phones lying side by side could have one WhatsApp phone number active on them both. Any video or voice call that comes in would ring on both devices at same time. However, this is an enhanced feature of using two WhatsApp Accounts on one mobile phone which I wrote earlier.
Read Message Later Features
This is not the existing Archive Message features on WhatsApp. The new Read Later features will mute or silence any selected chats and cease to send notifications even when new messages arrive under that chat. However, the existing Archive message features will mute the chats but continue to send you notifications when new messages arrive on those chats. Therefore, the new WhatsApp Features for Read Later will provide no disturbance for muted chats until whenever the user is ready to attend to those chats.
WhatsApp Announcements on Status
On the Status bar of every WhatsApp, the social media itself may open up a status update for every user’s account. Through this new WhatsApp status update, it is not clear whether WhatsApp may use it to run adverts or official announcements or both. However, I am aware that WhatsApp may use their new status update to enlighten users on WhatsApp new policy updates. Certainly, some new policy changes might be so dire that all WhatsApp users must have to comply or be yanked off the platform.
Possible Ads or Insurance Products on WhatsApp
Reportedly applicable to users in India, WhatsApp is set to partner with licensed financial institutions to float some health insurance and / or pension products. When fully activated, this may signal the beginning of advertisements or third-party product signatures on WhatsApp. Although WhatsApp has reiterated that it does not sell Ads on its platform in order to ensure perfect security and encryption of its users’ communications. This year 2021 is really hopeful with lots of new WhatsApp features likely to launch soon. The question is…are you ready?
