Most features on this new DStv HD decoder have intense similarities with the DStv Explora decoder but this time, these features have been simplified as would require a non-PVR HD decoder.

- HD Zapper has some common Explora software Components. It is customized and trimmed down for the Zapper experience. HD Zapper is manufactured by UEC where Explora is manufactured by PACE.
- Most of the software effort on HD zapper is to make the UI look good on both old TVs and new Flat Panels TVs
- HD Zapper is a single View ( View one ) decoder with only one tuner (single signal cable required)
This decoder will be the first HD zapper MultiChoice brings to market in Nigeria
There are lots of additional features that this decoder is capable of in close similarity with the DStv Explora that will be exposed in the future. There is no Hard drive in the HD Zapper.
Any new non-PVR related Feature on Explora will automatically be available on HD Zapper
